“ANNUAL HIGH POTENTIAL
YOUTH RECOGNITION PROGRAM”

Since
1985, Gamma Beta Boule', Sigma Pi Phi
Fraternity has sponsored an Annual
High Potential Youth Recognition Program.
This event honors high achieving
students from Duval County public and
private schools that scored at the 90th
percentile or higher on a national
standardized test and scored at
achievement level 4 or higher on Florida
Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT).
During the program, hundreds
of thousands of dollars in scholarships
are offered by various colleges and
universities to twelfth grade students
with a composite score of 1000
or higher on the Scholastic Aptitude Test
(SAT). Colleges and universities that
participated in the past are
University of North Florida, Edward Waters
College, Bethune-Cookman College,
Florida Community College at
Jacksonville (FCCJ), Florida A&M
University, Hampton University, Florida
Memorial College, and University of
Florida. Presidents of these colleges
and universities are invited to
participate on the program each year.
Parents and seniors are given an
opportunity to confer with
representatives of these institutions
regarding scholarship opportunities.
Seniors with the highest SAT scores
share financial cash awards of
approximately $7,000.00 provided by the
fraternity.
All
students received certificates
indicating outstanding academic
achievement and trophies or medallions.
The 2008 High Potential Recognition Program will
begin at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, April 25th in the Performing Arts
Center, University of North Florida, 4567 St. Johns Bluff Road
South, Jacksonville, FL 32224 .
